Performance review: NPA MD Hadiza Usman receives report on implementation of 24-hours Port operation

(TRADE NEWSWIRE):  A Socio-Economic Reformer and Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Hadiza Bala Usman, has received a Joint Stakeholders Committee report on the 24-hours port operation so far implemented for performance review, TRADE NEWSWIRE reports.

Upon receipt of the submitted Joint Stakeholders Committee report, NPA MD had consequently put in place effective machinery to comprehensively review the progress and challenges associated with the implementation of the Executive order on 24 hours-port operation to ascertain the compliance level.

Usman, however, received the Joint Stakeholders Committee report from the General Manager, Western Ports, NPA, Arc. Abiodun Gbadamosi, during an inter-agency interactive session at the NPA headquarters in Lagos.

The Federal Government had earlier handed down an Executive order to NPA for the commencement of 24-hours port operation and the Authority had since kick-started the implementation of the FG directive.

(Performance Review): Is the process by which a manager or consultant examines and evaluates an employee’s work behavior/ industry operations as it relates to the above subject matter, by comparing it with preset standards; documents the results of the comparison, and uses the results to provide feedback to the employee to show where improvements are needed and why.

(Note): Short-term review of this kind could not be disregarded considering the fact that it is wide-industry/ external based in nature cum inter-governmental agency operations, as it affects a nation’s economic activities with various business stakeholders interests involved ranging from manufacturers, importers and exporters to mention a few compared to internal organizational review of solely employee’ performance which could be patiently carried out in six months or one year.

In a statement obtained by TRADE NEWSWIRE from the Principal Manager, Public Affairs, NPA, Ibrahim Nasiru, NPA MD called on stakeholders in the maritime sub sector to collaborate amongst each other with the view to sustaining the Presidential Order on Port Operations.

She enjoined agencies in the maritime sub-sector to make information sharing a pivotal part of activities whilst collaborating with each other.

NPA MD called on all stakeholders involved to be up and doing for strict adherence to the tenets of the Executive Order on Port operations that would be devoid of encumbrances.
